    Our Mission

YMCA Powerful Schools engages children in learning by partnering with high need southeast Seattle public elementary schools to provide literacy and arts programs and to build communities that encourage student achievement.

    What we do

Through immersion in literacy and the arts, YMCA Powerful Schools engages students in learning to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving skills and information retention.

    Artist residencies

Professional artists bring curriculum to life with hands-on art projects.

Extended day: After-school classes and homework centers extend the learning day for students and invite the entire community into the school to enjoy academic, multi-cultural and recreational opportunities.
